Siniscola,
most important centre of the Baronie, offers an interesting
combination of mountain and sea. Mount Albo with its wild nature and
trekking paths, the immense beaches dominated by the presence of
fossil dunes in Capo Comino, represent a naturalistic patrimony of
great value.
The flora presents 700 species. The fauna of Mount Albo counts the royal
eagle, the travelling hawk, goshawk, and other birds of pray. Mount
Albo is easily
reachable through paths by foot or mountain bike. The coastal area of
Siniscola stretches from La Caletta beach, where our featured Hotel is
situated brushing the little fisherman village of Santa Lucia, up to
Berchida
beach, interrupted only the the Capo Comino red rocks and dunes. Berchida,
considered by most as one of most beatiful beaches in the world, hits you
with the whitest sand caressed by an enchanting uncontaminated turquoise
sea. Berchida valley, naturalistic oasis with
strongest legal limits which
make it immune from any future building development, is a paradise ideal for
whom loves silence, peace and contact with nature. Pottery is one of the main
craft traditions and still alive in Siniscola. Ceramics is an art passed
from father to son for generations, reaching today a relevant artistic
value. You can visit the artisan's
workshops and appreciate le workmanship, based both on industrial and
traditional techniques. North of Siniscola is the seaside resort of La Caletta, with its harbour
and numerous hotels. |
