The old town has retained some of Selargius of historical importance, as the surviving campidanesi typical houses, built with extensive use of "Ladir" the brick of raw earth, characterized by large portals, from central courtyards, known as "pràtzas" and loggias covered "Lollas. Significant from the point of view of art is the church of San Giuliano, dating from the thirteenth century, the ancient parish church in the Romanesque style, situated in a picturesque corner of the center that seems frozen in time. Nearby, in the central Square, stands the present church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin, dating from the sixteenth century, marked out by neoclassical façade, a high tower and a dome that dominates the building. The castle houses various works of art, including the impressive altar in polychrome marble.
Outside the center in a modern residential neighborhood bordering the town of Monserrato, is another little jewel of Romanesque church of San Lussorio dating from the thirteenth century. In the same area were carried out archaeological excavations, which have given birth several relics sometimes in fair condition overall, several finds of human skeletons buried under domes arranged in a tiled side by side. In the years before the area was heavily populated by groups for most of North African origin.
