Amazing scenic route and uphill Car racing stretch

Scenic route (statale 292, linking Alghero to Villnova). The view from the top, 400 metres, offers an unforgettable sight of Alghero and the whole bay. Since 1955, every year between the end of September and the beginning of October a 5 kilometres uphill car race is held on a stretch of this road ). Just under 100 partecipants usually take part ion the race which in 1966 also included Carmen Usai, first Sardinia female driver to take part in the race already in the opening race back 1n 1955.
