Muravera Events
There are two important religious events in Muravera: "Festa di S. Agostino" (in the end of August) and the Patron Saint, Saint Nicola (the 6th of December).
During April takes place the "Sagra degli agrumi" (Citrus Fruit Festival) . There is a parade of celebrated folk groups hailing from all over the Island and “etnotraccas” which are antique carts which represent a window into costumes and traditions of the past.
These avents are usually accompained by generous offering of food and beverage offering a thorough outlook at eno- gastronomic specialities of Sarrabus. Above all those of sardinian tradition and the products of this region: meat (the famous piglets), sausage, exceptional cheeses, sublime honey, characteristic bread, sweets, freshly made pasta, cakes such as "prazidas" and "panadas", liqueurs made of myrtle and lemon, the excellent wines "Cannonau", "Vermentino" and the Rosé (wine of Capo Ferrato). Then the products of the sea, all absolutely fresh, for how could they be otherwise: bass, gilthead, sole, mullet, bream, grey mullet, eels and an infinite variety of crustaceans and molluscs, all to be enjoyed in whatever way you prefer or, better still, trying the special plates of the local cuisine.
